Schools

Montataire has 6 nursery schools, 4 elementary schools and 3 primary schools run by the town, a collège run by the Oise département and a lycée run by the Hauts-de-France region.

The town provides school supplies for pupils in elementary classes, thereby supporting families. Every pupil receives exercise books, binders and textbooks at the start of the year. In addition, the local authority buys collective materials such as educational games for nursery schools.

Since the start of the 2019 school year, pupils have benefited from tablets and internet access thanks to the deployment of digital mobile classes in elementary schools. This initiative aims to familiarise children with new technologies while combating the digital divide.

Registrations

First day at school

Most children start school at the age of 3. For example, if your child was born in 2022, you must register him or her for the start of the school year in 2025. To do this, please go to childcare reception with the following documents:

• Family record book or birth certificate
• Up-to-date health or vaccination records
• Proof of address less than 6 months old
• CAF: benefit card or statement of benefits
• Identity card of the child's parent(s)
• Current year's tax or non-taxation notice on the previous year's income

Enrolment for the younger sections takes place in February. Families are informed of their children's school assignment in June, so they can prepare for the new school year with peace of mind.

At the same time, families' access toCitizen Space This will enable you to book the services you want directly online (catering, leisure and after-school care). It is also possible to register at the counter or on the dedicated digital terminal in the childcare service or when registering for school. 

There is a charge for these services, which must be booked in advance. Prices are based on your tax assessment.

For children already attending school in the city

Children attending one of the town's schools are automatically renewed. However, parents must register for extra-curricular activities. For school meals, after-school care and extra-curricular activities, registrations and bookings can be made at the counter or via the dedicated digital terminal in the Accueil enfance department or on theCitizen Space.
