The town of Montataire publishes the municipal newspaper "Vivre!" every two months, distributed to every resident. In addition, the leaflet "L'Entre-Deux!" is also distributed, offering news, a diary, a retrospective in pictures, portraits and much more.

And now what?

As we reminisce about our holidays, as the start of the new school year takes shape for everyone, and once the torpor of the summer has passed, immersing us in the magic of the Olympic Games, filled with a shared feeling of comfort in a united and popular national cohesion, we are reminded of reality...

Indeed, what about the result of the legislative elections, decided by the dissolution of the National Assembly, in a sordid political gamble by the sole will of President Macron.

The people went to the polls, with a turnout that "contradicted" the self-proclaimed arrival in power of the far right, that weakened the presidential majority, and that above all brought the union of the left under the banner of the New Popular Front to the top.

Today, out of respect for the citizens' vote, the President must appoint the Prime Minister presented by the NFP so that the first measures voted for by the electorate can be implemented: purchasing power, public services including health and education, in particular with the abandonment of the college reform that will create a two-tier school system!

Your elected communist and republican representatives are committed to this approach and will continue to work alongside you.

Happy back-to-school Olympics!

On 18 July last, The Olympic Flame passed through Nogent-sur-Oise and Creil A great initiative by these two towns and the Creil Sud Oise conurbation!

The passing of the flame was a great way of promoting the sporting values of these two towns and also of highlighting the sporting associations in these towns.

100 years after the 1924 Olympic Games, this once-in-a-lifetime moment was not to be missed, and we owe a huge debt of gratitude to the hundreds of Olympic torchbearer volunteers, and in particular to the many Montatairians involved, such as Halima, Gwendoline and all the others...

A big well done to our medallists, including Léon Marchand, Teddy Ryner and Camille Jedrzejewski from Isère!

It's a shame that Montataire's Olympic summer was summed up by the closure of our swimming pool in the middle of the heatwave, as it is every year (with temperatures of up to 37°C), the total absence of an Olympic fan zone, unlike in Chambly, the broadcasting of no Euro 2024 matches and the end of summer cinemas, which could have had an Olympic theme...

A cultural entrance

In September, it's back to school again after a well-earned holiday. Our conurbation (Creil, Montataire, Nogent sur Oise, Villers Saint Paul) offers a range of cultural activities.

On 12 September 2024, we commemorate the centenary of the birth of Amilcar Cabral. An international conference is being organised by a group of associations with the support and participation of Mr Aristide Gomes " Prime Minister of Guinea Bissau. And draw a parallel with the 80th anniversary of the landings in the Somme and Provence, with the bravery of African and French soldiers. Jean Moulin's resistance for the liberation of France.
